Computers provide advantages to those that know how to use them. Increased knowledge of computer use will allow students to increase their ability to learn. There is a great emphasis on computer use for most jobs and occupations. Computers in schools will provide opportunities for students as teachers to learn and acquire new ideas and applications.

The future is full of possibilities and computers will provide access to those possibilities. Schools should already be in the process of offering a computer class of some kind for students. Advances in computers are being made every day and even though schools may not be able to keep up, they still need to provide basic knowledge. Students need to be able to have an understanding of how the future will be affected by computers. It is also crucial that they know why it is important to know how they work and how to use them effectively.

As computers continue to advance, at a fast rate, schools will may not be able to keep up with the advances made in this area. It is realistic to assume that school districts cannot afford to upgrade their systems whenever newer ones are available. This puts schools at in a bad position because students are being introduced to older models of computers and software. Although, what they have should be sufficient to introduce students to computers and associated applications. New technologies and advances are happening at such a fast rate that by the time one brand of computer is purchased their is a new one ready to replace it.

School districts may have to look towards their state for help with providing access to computers for students. States may provide some sort of financial relief to school districts to help with their computer needs. Although, state governments are limited to what they can provide to school districts. School districts themselves will have to develop their own ways to provide computer access to students. Decisions affecting what type of equipment to provide and what type of instruction will be made available for the desired equipment will be necessary.

As a result of providing access to computers for students they will be receiving education that will assist them in the future. Knowledge of computer use will be valuable in the years ahead. Being able to know how to use a computer will be an important asset for the future. Increased technology will lead to new advances and opportunities that are new and exciting.
